The 12 Steps of NA & AA will keep you down… In recovery forever… Go holistic with me from Jan 1st

Quit day is approaching fast..

January 1st you are welcome on board to join me quit Cocaine, Crack, Alcohol, gambling whatever / whoever your demon is… We’re going to undertake a gentle, day by day structured approach to cleaning up our acts.

Early in 2015 after many failed attempts I succeeded in beating an addiction that had ruled and practically ruined my life for the last 7 years… Traditional approaches to recovery suck.. A lifetime in recovery is worse than a lifetime of addiction… follow me everyday at this blog to get all the tips, help and guided instruction you need to get to a recovered state.

12 Steps.. works for some, I found it lethargic, outdated and controlling.. and fundamentally unsuccessful, every other time I attended a meeting I went straight out the door and scored…

  1. Admit that you are powerless over your addiction, that your life has become unmanageable… You are not powerless over your addiction, you just need to be shown a solid structured method to exit addiction.
  2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity… I don’t remember that happening, I just needed the tools and knowledge to deal with the head trauma.
  3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him… Yep, you are the ‘God’ in the business of recovery.. Got an unconditional loving friend who wants to see you well and cleaned up??? Make them a God.
  4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves… Some introspection is a good idea… without persecution… You’ve been ill.
  5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs… Apologies where needed are a good idea… We’ll work on this and you can thank yourself not any God for making things right.
  6. We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character… Good Grief, please stop with this higher power business.
  7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings… Stop, stop, stop with the God… I will show you ways and activities to get your self respect in order.. Please love yourselves addicts, if not know we WILL get there.
  8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all… Yes, that’s a good one…. we’ll do that…
  9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others… How on earth would making amends harm people????
  10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it… Yes, yes, yes, now lets get over that and take some personal positive actions for Christ’s (or other God’s sake.)
  11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out… NO… If you want to reduce head trauma and the constant pangs of getting clean then by all means meditate… In meditation you’re clearing head space and praying to yourself… Personally I couldn’t have quit without 2 x 10 mins slow breathing a day.. God knows it works! 🙂
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs… A spiritual awakening is guaranteed with meditation and mindful activities… Get yourself clean and right and then do things for others… Rebirth or whatever you want to call it will follow for sure.

Follow me here.. I need a hard decision from you that you want to quit and that you’ll have an open mind… Please support and share my community work..

1st January 2016, get on board, we’re going to slay demons.

Love and blessings to you all,

21 Days to go till Quit Day – Guided Cocaine exit.

23 Days to go till Assisted Cocaine Quit Day… Pain, Suffering, Grief, Desertion… #qday010116

Quit day is approaching…

Whilst I maybe the guide, I’m still human…

We have 23 days to go before we all quit Cocaine / Crack and other substances together… It’s become quite apparent to myself that I’m ready to review my program myself… I’m feeling a little lost.

Whilst I have all the tools I need to not use powder to have a good time, for sure it is times like this that I would go there to relief pain.

I am in pain…. Suffering is a choice and helps limit the experience but when you’re in pain you really only have two choices. Choice 1 is to get hammered and then prolong the pain after a short burst of euphoria. Choice 2 is to ‘suck it up’ as the Americans say… Suck it up, keep busy and remind oneself that mental trauma must be managed through staying occupied and achieving things.

Using meditation and tapping techniques in order to free up mental space to function works and is a technique that ex-addicts should try to master. Most important is to grab hold of each doubting thought and question its presence in the mind at that moment… That process which is well underlined in the groundbreaking book – Addiction Unplugged – How to be free by John Flaherty has become an essential part of my day to day recovery (read more here about this book.)

Its a relief to know I have all I need to get me through a ‘low point’ such as this.. In fact I’m pretty fortunate… I have the tools, the guide book, the spiritual exercises, I have beautiful Bonnie by my side who’s only desire is my contentment… I have a roof over my head and food to eat. I’m lucky and grateful.

Unfortunately Christmas time has for a while caused me pain and it is being reinforced this year by renewed feelings of grief, loss and indeed desertion. I have deserved some of these feelings, I’m being given an extra dose though.. Right here, right now.

I feel the pangs that you feel for your own personal reasons… So there you go… No one will be able to say that I’m not on your level now and throughout this festive season.

I shall be dealing with; pain, suffering, an inability to function as well as redressing the past, cleaning up our acts, getting fit, engaging in new and old pastimes, enjoying life without indulging… All of it, from Jan 1st.

There is no doubt in my mind that I would right now at this moment be in big trouble without the skills, experiences and lessons I have learned. Yes, there is no silver bullet to deal with deep pain. What is required of me in order to deal with my grieving at this moment is to stay clean, function, provide for my family and walk though this trauma into a better day tomorrow.

Your addiction guide gives you honesty and that from someone who has lived quite a dishonest existence is an achievement.

The secret to winning your most challenging battles with drug addiction is to keep getting up and back into war without relenting despite the pain you feel… Do this with me for 3mths and freedom awaits… The freedom to blow away the cobwebs of days in pain as I feel right now.

I’m missing a child… It’s my Achilles heal, my ultimate test.

In days gone by, the man would have already have been and  dropped off… Taken my money and set me on a backwards path… Does this resonate???

January 1st 2016 we move forwards together, I’ve got all you need to see you through. I’m now going for a brisk walk in the park.. It’s a bit of a recovery fix don’t you know…

Follow me here.. I need a hard decision from you that you want to quit and that you’ll have an open mind… Please support and share my community work..

YOU WILL FEEL BETTER, YOU WILL BE THE PERSON YOU ONCE WERE IF NOT BETTER, YOU WILL LEARN, EMBRACE AND ENJOY GOING OUT WITHOUT A BAG IN YOUR POCKET, I WILL SHOW YOU YOUR SELF RESPECT ONCE MORE…

1st January 2016, get on board, we’re going to slay demons.

Love and blessings to you all,

Feel like getting high??? Jan 1st is Quit Day

Happy Friday…

God I feel like getting high…

Rarely do I get this feeling after a long time straight… It’s like an ex-smokers early morning reminiscing at the bus stop, catching the aroma of a just lit cigarette.

Fortunately for me the standard of powder in the UK at the moment is without doubt at it’s lowest.. Don’t blame the war on drugs, containers getting pulled as they hit England’s shores. Forget purity problems from Columbia and Peru… Blame the greedy middle men who aren’t flower children of the 60’s wanting everyone to ‘have a good time…’ Those days are well over, your average wide boy chav or Albanian hatchback driving friend is so cock sure about not going to jail with his stash for a very good reason...

Half the time there’s no dust in the soft textured reprocessed shit that’s on the streets… There; I’ve talked myself out if it.. Fortunately I meditated earlier… Had to… Woke up tripping with endless brain chatter going off… I feel grief today.. I miss a few people. That’s how I became an addict… Not out of the love of a party, was out of pain, guilt and grief…

Still I used to like getting high not getting low and rest assured after one line of 20% tops quality repro I’m going to be left with a stirring mental fatigue for at least a week..

Being an ex-addict and someone out of recovery doesn’t mean you’re not done with the occasional wrangle… That’s your albatross legacy… or is it???  Is it actually just a little pang of pain that you used to sooth with the addiction of your choice…???  Alcoholics will know what I’m talking about. Don’t read too much into these wranglings in your head… Please, just meditate for 10 mins twice a day… It works.

Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional.. So am I going to waste my time, money, energy, general health and mental well being on that shit… ???

Nope, I’m off for a walk in the park.. I’ll slowly unwind the urge to get on it… It’s been escalating for an hour or so now. I’ve learned to refer all that mental hype to my heart, away from my head… It’s good to have a system that works and it does work after all I used to be a 3 times a week 24hr Cocaine binge grand master.

I don’t miss that guy…

Follow me here and learn what I have learned… Some control…

I need a hard decision from you that you want to quit and that you’ll have an open mind… Please support and share my community work..

YOU WILL FEEL BETTER, YOU WILL BE THE PERSON YOU ONCE WERE IF NOT BETTER.

Love yourself addicts it’s time to find our way home...

1st January 2016, get on this with me and bring a bag friend…

Warm Blessings,

Paul Kennedy

Day 8: Cocaine Exit Daily Tips and Strategy – She’s does lie, she does lie, she does lie Cocaine.

Catch up by clicking link in top right hand corner…

‘If you got bad news, wanna kick them blues – Cocaine – J.J. Cale

J.J. & Eric ‘God’ Clapton sure knew what they were singing about, probably consumed a few kilos between them… The lyrics don’t resonate that much with me, more like ‘if you’ve got bad news wanna delay the feeling and have it smack you in the face twice as hard in 48hrs’ but that doesn’t rhyme does it… Probably why I’m not singing for my supper. ‘She don’t lie, she don’t lie, she don’t lie’ is a lie.

Were in the truth business now…

‘More than a week since I concluded my experiment as a ‘user,’ I have no desire to return to my old ways as an abuser nor will I use as long as I reside in the UK and to be honest don’t think I’ll bother again full stop. I’m bored with it. My buzz comes from helping addicts and ex-addicts recover. The pain I cause others and the harm it does to my body and mental health mean It just ain’t worth it anymore ‘ My truth – Paul Kennedy – 8th January 2016

Day 8

  1. Note carefully my truth above… I have replaced days and night of use while in pain… I have dealt with my pain or; sadness, regret and loss. I am occupying my time doing things that reward me and I enjoy very much. You must do the likewise ex-addicts.
  2. For today we say no to Cocaine or your problem drug or drink…
  3. Offer gratitude for your roof, sustenance, family, work, health etc.
  4. The weekend is here; ensure all contact numbers for dealers and use acquaintances are out of your reach. If you are not busy enough and susceptible to your mind drifting towards scoring then get busy and plan some activities. Spend the money on something engaging that you would otherwise have wasted on powder.
  5. Avoid the trance inducing zombie box in your living room. If you watch a lot of TV try and claim some of that time back through discipline. If you are a weed smoker and you watch TV whilst smoking then be very careful… The mind drifts in this transient activity. Personally I found console gaming with its interaction a great distraction. Hey, we’re only removing thoughts of use for one day… right!! 🙂
  6. Pop the vitamin, whisk up some fruit on the turn for a smoothie and give thought to a balanced meal. I love to cook and am fortunate enough to understand that this is one sure fire way to get some; relaxation, distraction, accomplishment and an end result (Bonnie can burn water so its lucky I’ve got skills.)
  7. Cooking and music we’re my fave pastimes prior to my addiction illness. Shit coke removes the appetite and fast forwards you to an ego driven list of hedonistic activities as you know. As we are slowing down and taking enjoyment in the moment are you embracing the pastimes that once occupied your spare time? I am… as each day passes I am getting more of a kick out of the little things in music; the construction / layers of a song, its lyrics, the mind drifting to recognise a sample beat or melody of Soul turning up in a new R&B or Hip Hop tune. Details… Details… Details… This is the reward of perseverance and elapsed time since use… You’re mind’s circuits rewiring the meddlesome powders transit around the brain. Whatever it is you used to love… Get back involved with it.
  8. For those of an open mind disposition and are willing to take everything with a pinch of salt; take a look at a movie / book called The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Set aside some of the filler and over the top dialogue and you will find within it a powerful message to reinforce positive thinking and living in the now as previously discussed. I just found this YouTube upload for free, ignore the Spanish subtitles unless you’re pastime is language skills in which case win/win! The Secret – Full Movie (subtitles)
  9. Keep reading Addiction Unplugged – How To Be Free it sealed the deal for me on getting free of addiction.
  10. Set up a visual aid to help bring your goals forward and incorporate it into your daily to-do schedule; clip pictures from the internet of the things you want to do with the new you… New job, new home, new vehicle, holiday… whatever it is… Personally I clipped pics of new lungs, liver, pile of cash that I saved and not spent on garbage coke, a new car, pics of me and happy ex-addicts, volunteering to help the homeless and elderly. These things mean something to me and every morning before I hit the hard tasks of the day I take a view and get inspired. Give it a go. Were functioning well we now need to step it up a gear.
  11. Get outdoors and take a nice slow walk alone or with a friend… Breath in that good air! If you’re on your own and struggling feel free to contact me here or at pjk2011@gmail.com . A few of you are doing so and we’re getting there…

Happy Weekend soon to be recovered souls… You’re kicking ass.

Please support and share my community work..
